Porter Brook

Dryad Works, Room 2 - 03:30-04:30

Porter Brook forged his practice in the crucible of Sheffield’s Low-End industrialism.

With two releases on Sheffield’s cult label and night Groundwork at the age of 17, he soon held a residency at Hope Works and the No Bounds festival. His sound has since blossomed, with a release on Al Wootton’s Trule in 2023. More recently, he co-founded Second Born, a record label and arts platform that provides tangible resources and sustainably supports the visions of a new generation of artists coming up in an increasingly struggling and fleeting club culture. As a DJ, he deftly balances an auteur-like approach to experimental electronics with an instinctive understanding of the dance floor — the result of an adolescence spent with his head stuck in a bass bin somewhere in the north of England.
